What anabolic steroid is methyldiazirinol?
We became a bit confused by all those occult anabolic steroids. So many of those things appeared that we could no longer afford the trouble of properly investigating them. But when we came across a jar this week with the enigmatic methyldiazirinol - annex 3,3-azo-17-alpha-methyl-5-alpha-androstan-17-beta-ol - we went into the library after all.

The stuff

Methyldiazirinol came on the market in 2013. It is sitting or sitting among others in Iron Legion's Triumphalis - no idea if that product is still on the market. We currently see it mainly in products with stacks of oral anabolic steroids. The producers advise not to use methyldiazirinol for more than 5 consecutive weeks.Based on some reading on the boards, methyldiazirinol was an effective oral anabolic steroid, but many users experience serious side effects. Well, of course you can expect that from this type of 17-alpha methylated substance.

The discoverers
In 1965, chemists from the American Lederle Laboratories, part of the chemical giant American Cyanamid Company, published an article in the Journal of the American Chemical Society in which they talk about a group of diaziridine and diazirine steroids they made in their lab and studied. Two of the substances that the researchers first synthesized are shown below.

In animal studies, steroid 1 was androgenic but not very anabolic, and steroid 2 was anabolic but not very androgenic. When the researchers started to further steroid 2, 3.3-azo-17-alpha-methyl-5-alpha-androstan-17-beta-ol alias methyldiazirinol arose.Below you can see how Julius Vida described methyldiazirinol in his Androgens & Anabolic Agents . Vida drew on the animal studies described in the publication of Lederle Laboratories.
Methyldiazirinol had 20 percent of the androgenic effect of methyl testosterone, and 300 percent of its anabolic effect.

That's beautiful, of course. This does not mean that methyldiazirinol is 'therefore' a safer anabolic than methyl testosterone. According to Vida, a notorious liver runner like methasterone was also a wonderful steroid. Patent
According to write-ups that you can find on the web, the researchers at Lederle would have already obtained a patent on methyldiazirinol in the 1950s. However, we have not been able to find patent literature on this substance.

Oh, yes
Methyldiazirinol has never been tested on humans. The Lederle study is the only study in which researchers have looked at this steroid.
