The current trend in childhood obesity has skyrocketed and left many children ages 2 -17 in danger of obesity. In the age group of 12 – 19-year-olds the rate of obesity is 22% according to the CDC. Why should this matter, not considering the lack of effective exercise and proper nutrition, is the fact that childhood obesity also contributes to weight related issues such as, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes and breathing problems like astma and sleep apnea.

Over the last 5 decades, the total number of children with childhood obesity has risen to 41% being classified as overweight, obese, severely obese.

A study published in the National Library of Medicine points out that although Fathers have an impact on the physical activity that their child participates in but very little influence when it come to the proper intake of fruits and vegetables.

What about Food as a REWARD? Definitely not the way to get a child to eat healthy. In fact it can be counterproductive. Have you ever promised your child that they could have ice cream if they eat their broccoli? Talk about the devaluation of a good heathy food. The kid may reluctantly eat the broccoli but only as a means of getting the ice cream. Now, what if we praise our kids for eating properly. Wil that have an effect. Praising children for their proper eating habits can help to create a fundamental desire to eat vegetables and encourage the eating it simply because it is nutritious.

Studies have also shown that parents who engage in healthier eating and activity habits themselves are more likely to have children who mirror those behaviors as they grow into adulthood. So, in a nutshell, in order to get your children to engage in health habits, you, as a parent must first participate in those behaviors themselves.

Life post.. Unfortunately, life goes in the wrong direction. Everything fast, instead of making dinner, is fast food.

Health takes second place.

The worst thing is that children are the future of this world, and spending everyday on the internet + dirty food will not lead to anything good..
