Alot of people during pre contest do breakfast without carbs even after cardio. this sounds extreme catabolic and not an option for open bodybuilders?

Man I have nothing unqiue to share here.
Someone above said "the most important meal is the meal you skipped." Boom! Doesn't get more real than that.
Getting the meals in is way more important than meal timing.

this topic can go forever, for bodybuilding, each meal is important, because each meal should be timed for a specific reason not just to stay in a caloric surplus or high protein, but certain nutrients are needed at curtain times and need to be shuttled to the muscle bellies for independent reasons compared to other types of nutrients and building blocks.
Know how to time nutrients, its not always about eating, but rather what you eat and when...

Of course , because if we are on pre contest i prefer wake up do fasted cardio and first meal i keep with no carbs to keep hgh working better , so in this time of the year my most important meal is post workout when i push the carbs to recover and reduce cortisol, so half day i keep burning fat and around workout gaining muscle
What do you think about this ?

At the end of the day it's all speculation. Nothing is really proven when it comes to bodybuilding and nutrient intake other than the basic facts. Nutrient timing, anabolic windows, fasted vs non fasted, etc...are all just theories. Some work for some people, while others work for other people. There's no "one size fits all" approach.MONSTRO wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 7:07 pm Of course , because if we are on pre contest i prefer wake up do fasted cardio and first meal i keep with no carbs to keep hgh working better , so in this time of the year my most important meal is post workout when i push the carbs to recover and reduce cortisol, so half day i keep burning fat and around workout gaining muscle

For sure Jozifp103 , not just what fits for you dont work on me but at same time our body is prepared to be normal (not to much muscle and some fat mostly around waits for survive mode). So the best to do for all of us is change all ( diet, training, drugs ) from time to time to keep getting results. The body always fight to be normal.

I have to agree with Monstro and Vision, it’s knowing when your body is primed, and providing it what it needs at the appropriate time. So I say the Meal Plan/Diary is the most important meal. It should coincide with the planned energy Expenditure for the day, and be tailored specific to your metabolism. Knowing what you’re eating, when you’re eating and why you’re eating it, tweaking the calories to find the balance, and recording it all. With it, we can learn from our mistakes and what works for our body. Growing muscle and cutting body fat at the same time is like skimming a stone across water.

Yes for sure you need to chose one : cutting or bulking . If top athletes do one phase each time is because is the best way, and we see alot of beginners trying to gain muscle and burn fat same time (forgot that ).
I got sick when newbies try to know more than pros , like the shreded offseason ( damm ) . if it works why Phil, Ronnie done real hardcore off seasons?
And if your goal is big one the most important meal is ALL ( never skip one)

BINGO.. pick and choose your goal.. trying to gain muscle and loss fat is a battle that has been proven to have stalled results.MONSTRO wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 5:50 pm Yes for sure you need to chose one : cutting or bulking . Man up eat, and maybe you might get a bit fluffy, but nothing that same training and dieting can fix a few weeks down the road.
Pick a realistic target goal and just keep the eye on the prize.. we can't have it all, from both sides of the fence, its one or the other.. Now a re-comp is one things, but don't expect to gain much size, it's simply just to peal down and condition yourself a bit to see what you're working with and going from there.
